Did An Eat : Wulf & Lamb. London, UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

There’s been a definite buzz about this ‘new kid on the block’. I decided to have a Saturday stroll in Battersea Park to work up a good appetite before heading to Wulf & Lamb to stuff a load of tasty chow in my face.

Initially, I was worried that the Chelsea eatery might be a bit wanky which is not my style at all. In fact, it was inviting and had a very friendly, romantic vibe. Kinda sophisticated but definitely not snobby. The waitresses seemed welcoming, eager to help and offered nice an appetiser of cheery bants.

I had The Wulf Burger – Seitan burger, topped with tomato, baby gem, pickle, red onion and cashew aioli in a brioche bun with house sauerkraut and wedges.

The burger was the edible equivalent of an Angelina Jolie #nomakeupselfie – totally beautiful without excessive embellishments. The seitan patty spoke for itself and I liked what it had to say. A simple solid winner.

Ludz went for the Green Coconut Curry – Sweet potato mash and in-season vegetables, aromatic thai roots, spices and coconut cream with jasmine rice.

I thought the idea of putting mash in curry was a little crackers but the whole thing was damn incredible. Unique and flavoured to perfection. My burger was amazing but I still had serious food envy.

We also scored a Mac ‘N’ Cheese side because who can resist mac & cheese?!

I’m so glad we did! It was honestly one of the best mac & cheeses I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Make it a main please, guys, I want a bucket of that tasty shit!

‘Cos we’re naughty we finished with Mango & Passionfruit Cheesecake – Melt-in-the-mouth dairy-free cheesecake on a base of macadamia, pistachios and sesame seeds, topped with raspberry crumble and mint.

Being the uncultured swine that I am, it took a bit of prodding and tentative tasting to realise we’d been given the correct desert. It wasn’t the classic triangular form that I expected. He was a bit of a posh one with all this deconstructed behaviour but the flavours were bang-on.

If you have a hot date and want to impress, Wulf & Lamb is a must. If your date stands you up, even better – order for two anyway and treat yo-self to double the joy! 😸
