Did An Eat : Lele’s London, UK ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

December 9th 2017.
A monstrous blizzard hit London…
…well, it was snowing a little bit
The metropolitan line was partially suspended though so I guess you could say it was moderately bad!
Anyway, the lure of tasty vegan treats tempted us out of our pillowy fort to brave the adverse weather conditions on an adventure to Hackney.

To celebrate going fully vegan, Lele’s London invited us down to try their new menu and of course we were only too happy.

Lele’s was perfectly warm both in temperature and atmosphere. We took a seat at a cute mismatched table and chair combo and ordered brunch.

I couldn’t resist the French Toast with raspberry compote, coconut cream, peanut butter, cocoa nibs.

Oh. My. Cocoa nibs. It was absolutely crackin’. The flavours were contrasting yet harmonious like a Linkin Park & Jay-Z banger. Fresh Toast, Tart Raspberries vs. Sweet Syrup & Coconut Cream ft. Savoury Peanut Butter. Officially my Essential mix of 2017. The best French Toast I’ve eaten – vegan or otherwise!

Ludz did a Lele’s Vegan Full English – Garlic mushrooms and baked beans with red peppers on toasted sourdough, with fresh spinach, roasted oregano tomatoes, bubble and squeak (sweet potato and cauliflower) and vegusto sausage.

According to Ludz, it was his favourite vegan breakfast yet. I had a sneaky bite too and true enough it was damn amazing. The sausage was a tasty little beast with a frankfurter flavour and texture. I’m pretty attached to my baked beans so I’m not usually of a fan of fancy variations, but they were spiced little wonders. The various other bits were alsoย ๐Ÿ‘Œ

A vegan birdie told me that the raspberry biscuit had just sold out at Broadway Vegan Market so thought I’d take one home for Simo.

His verdict? ‘The biscuit of dreams’. Clearly there’s a good reason why these bad boys are hastily snapped up!

I chatted with Lele’s super sweet owner Valentina who explained that since personally switching to veganism she’d felt hypocritical cooking with animal based products. The goal of Lele’s became about being part of a positive change and inspiring others with killer food.

It’s always amazing to see someone so excited about vegan food and it really shone through in the delectable delights on offer.

Can I get an encore?
